Assistance to the victims after the tornado

We all were touched on June 21st, 2021 by news about destructed tornado in the area of South Moravia. We decided immediately to arrange finances to help to concrete victims. We contacted the mayor of one of the affected  villages – Lužice - and got the tip of Mr. and Mrs. Vlk, who had only the fundations of their house left. They now live in one room in the house at their daughter, whose house was also destroyed by tornado however.

Three members of our club (Alice, Beata, Jana Š.) visited in November 7th, 2021 Mr. and Mrs. Vlk to give them a sum 58.800,- CZK as a small contribution to the renovation of their housing. The touching meeting suggests a few pictures of handling over the donation agreement. We keep our fingers crossed, that they will live in their own home again soon.

Glass of Wine

Preparation for the traditional event of our club „Glass of wine“ was accompanied by concerns about if in this coronavirus period guests come. But the obvious participation of our main guest, the well-known theater and movie actress Iva Janžurová, thrilled us all. Many guests from our acquaintances and friends had a good time and all appreciated the humor and immediacy of the wine knight Iva Janžurová. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the ACORUS Center to support their clients, which ACORUS representatives personally appreciated.

Tree planting  

November 2021

Our club has decided to join the European call of the "Green Line" and contribute to the greening of the hill in the Sacre Coeur Park in the Prague 5 area. Zuzana I. and Jana Bur. agreed with the horticultural center Centrum planting and subsequent care of "our" 2 pear trees. Not only the other 2 members of our club present during planting, but we all will watch how our trees thrive in this beautiful setting.

Christmas and ACORUS

December 2021

As every year, we were able to contribute to the Christmas mood for children and mothers who temporarily found their home in a sheltered Acorus home. We believe that everyone will enjoy the same joy we experienced in preparation.

Advent club meeting

December, the month of lights, gifts and joyful anticipation. Unfortunately, this year without Christmas stalls, but those,  vaccinated, they could meet and stay in a restaurant at least until 10 pm. For us, it was again  Beer Basilico with renowned Italian cuisine.
